My friend, Nike
This may be the first time I mention someone by the name of Nike. She is my Nigerian friend. We take the same course. In lectures, she often stood out for her active participation – answering questions, making comments, putting up her views and so on. However, my friendship with Nike really started when we constantly bumped into each other in the library. We recognised one another as course mates. Then, we started talking. We got to know each other’s names and numbers. Soon, we studied together in the library and contacted one another more often off the library.
Okay, she's much taller than me.
Recently, Nike started hanging out with my crowd. I introduced her to Nadz. I was glad they got along pretty well. They even started a match of pool against one another on Tuesday, 4th May, 2010 – the day of our Essay 6 submission, which also marked the end of our taught courses. I guess both Nike and Nadz were trying to ease out their stress – one for having completed the taught courses and another for having to sit for examination soon.
Posing in between matches
It did not matter who won or lost.
Overall, it was a fun day!!!
I also learned a Nigerian word that day... ‘Timutimu’ which means cushion.
